Mosaic artists from across the region are about to converge on North Yorkshire.
Aldborough, near Boroughbridge, will be hosting a mosaic festival from September 5 to 13.
Sue Kershaw, a mosaic artist from Huttons Ambo, near Malton, together with northern members of the British Association of Modern Mosaics will exhibit their contemporary and Roman-inspired works.
Aldborough has the most northerly in Roman mosaics in the country – some of which are regarded as unique in te country.
They include discoveries made nearly two hundred years ago by workmen burying a calf in the grounds of the local inn and others that include rare Greek inscriptions.
Members of Friends of Roman Aldborough will tell the stories behind those as part of the tours on both weekends of the festival.
Sue will also be running a mosaic workshop on September 5 from 10.30 am to 3pm in Aldborough village hall
Participants will be able to create their own design using a variety of materials or make one to an authentic Roman design.
She will also be making smaller mosaics with children who visit the museum on September 6.
