Personally i think that in more recent years the commercialization of Christmas (and other holidays like Easter, Halloween & St.Valentines day, fathers/mothers day etc) has gotten out of control. But if anything, all this commercialization (this pressure to buy, buy, buy!) has had the reverse effect on me. This year i am aiming to spend less on Christmas than ever- its just going be me, my guy, the Christmas tree, some presents, decorations & good home cooked food and a nice chilled out day together ^_^v ...(No over-spending or over-buying on food, presents and everything else etc). You spend too much money/buy too much stuff and (IMHO) you start to lose the real meaning of what its all supposed to be about!
So whats your stance on the commercialization of such traditional days these days? Will you be spending the big bucks on Christmas later this year or will you be aiming to do the opposite etc?
