So earlier I was out having a cup of lunchtime tea outside in my garden when I heard one of the neighbours burglar alarm go off. Thing is though is pretty much everyone in the neighbourhood is out at this time of day and I didn't actually specifically know the people who lived in the house where the alarm was going off. But I could hardly just sit there while a neighbours house was potentially getting burgled! So I ended up walking up the road to check up on the house. And the really nice thing was that another neighbour (who I've also never met) was walking down the road and I asked him if he knew the people at the house where the alarm was going off and he said no but that he was also going to check up on the house. So we both went to check up on the house together and thankfully there were no signs of forced entry (and everything seemed intact inside) and so it just seemed like the people's burglar alarm was faulty (it was at the very least probably a very old one as it was one of the ones where it sounds a bell when it goes off). So everything was ok! But I thought it was really nice how although neither of us knew the couple who lived at that house, we both went outside to check if their house was ok. We might all live in a modern day society where barely anyone knows each other in the neighbourhood etc but at least some of us live by oldskool values of looking out for each other none the less ! (Its stuff like this that makes me love living in this area so much ^_^v )
