"A former friend and associate of Jordan Belfort, the real-life Wolf of Wall Street, is now homeless and living on the streets in Manhattan. 52-year-old William ‘Preston’ King was photographed asleep on pizza boxes in Greenwich Village by the Sergeants Benevolent Association, in the hope of bringing homelessness issues to the attention of City Hall. His sister Kristine saw one of the pictures and recognised him, and is now desperate to find him. King was a high-flying, fiercely intelligent broker at firms like Merrill Lynch but succumbed to drug and alcohol problems, battling them for 30 years." Full story: uk.movies.yahoo.com/post/126581917921/friend-of-the-real-life-wolf-of-wall-street-is-nowHomelessness is a complicated issue...However from the sound of it, his dire homeless situation was no-one's fault but his own (as ultimately only he can face up to & address his drug/alcohol issues). I feel particularly sorry though for his sister (who has been put in the most difficult & heart wrenching situation of all; her brother might be a dysfunctional & untrustworthy drug addict who has hurt his family repeatedly etc but its almost impossible to make yourself stop caring/feeling about someone so close!).
